Take a quick survey the offensive line for the 2016 MHSAA 6A State Champion Arrows, and it will be hard to miss Sidney Wells.

The 6-4, 360-pound lineman added size and strength to one of the more consistent offensive lines in 6A football.

On National Signing Day, Wells signed a letter of intent with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

“I chose Mississippi Gulf Coast first of all because of the opportunities to better myself as a lineman, as well as the coaching staff. They are very down to earth,” Wells said. “It will also be nice to see more of Mississippi and play alongside the talent present in our state.”

He will be heading south along with fellow Arrow lineman Jordyn Leonard and defensive athlete Jacobi Hearn in the fall.

Sometimes playing guard and sometimes playing tackle, Wells started all 15 games during Clinton’s Championship campaign.

He was awarded the 2015 Roy Burkett Leadership Award after his junior season was recently named 2nd Team All-State.

Wells is the son of Lucianna Wells.
