The Lady Arrows Volleyball team kicked off the beginning of their 2018 season with a win against Hancock High School.
The Lady Arrows defeated the Lady Hawks 3-2 winning the first set 26-24 but dropping the next two sets 22-25 and 20-25. The Lady Arrows fought back to win the final two sets, securing the first win for new head coach Megan Brown.
Senior All-Star and libero Logan Parker served up 6 aces and had 26 digs.
Fellow Senior All-Star Mary Claire Ford had earned 2 aces, 17 kills and 23 digs on the night.
Two younger players on the roster contributed to the win as well. Freshman Mallory Morris served up 3 aces and racked up 22 assists, and eighth grader Lakin Laurendine earned 2 aces, 18 kills, 4 blocks and 13 digs.
The Lady Arrows will participate in the Set It Off Tournament this weekend, taking on Lake Cormorant Friday at 2:00 and Presbyterian Christian School at 6:00 PM.
Saturday’s pool play schedule is TBA.
The Lady Arrows return to their home court at 5:30 PM Tuesday, Aug. 14 in a Varsity-only match against St. Andrews.
