The Clinton Arrows (1-0) kicked off their 2018 on the road with a thrilling 14-7 overtime win against the South Panola Tigers.
Sophomore Montavious Warren scored both touchdowns for the night.
Senior Quarterback Hunter Hulsey was 9 for 18 on the night, throwing for 79 yards against the Tiger defense.
Senior Tight-end Desmyn Baker racked up 45 yards on three receptions.

The Arrows welcome the Vicksburg Gators this Friday at Arrow field for Clinton’s home opener. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

After falling to the heavy-swinging DeSoto Central Lady Jaguars on Aug. 11, the Lady Arrows answered back by defeating St. Andrews on Aug. 14 in straight sets (25-20; 25-18; 25-7) and on the road against Northwest Rankin in straight sets as well (25-15; 25-14; 25-12).
Eight-grader Lakin Laurendine currently leads the varsity squad with 85 kills.
Senior All-Star libero Logan Parker leads the Lady Arrows with 24 Aces and 97 digs.
Fellow All-Star Senior Mary Claire Ford is second on the board for the Lady Arrows with 76 digs.

Thursday, Aug.23, the Lady Arrows look to continue their winning streak as they travel to Warren Central to open district play taking on the Lady Vikings (2-2). The Lady Vikings are looking for their first win in three matches.
The Lady Arrows Slow Pitch Softball team traveled to Grenada on Tuesday, Aug. 21 to face Grenada High School.
The Clinton girls dropped the first game of a double-header 8-5 and the second game 10-2.
The Aug. 16 rain-out game against Wesson has been rescheduled for Sept. 17.
The Lady Arrows travel to Florence on Thursday, Aug 23 for a rematch against the Lady Eagles.
Around the District
On Tuesday, Aug. 21, the CJHS and Sumner Hill football teams have kicked off Little-Six play in impressive fashion.
Sumner Hill (1-0) handed Vicksburg a crushing defeat keeping the Gators scoreless throughout the game. The Arrows win 37-0.
CJHS only gave up one touchdown, and defeated the Gators on the road 25-7.
Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, Aug 28 as they take on the Northwest Rankin Cougars. Sumner Hill will travel to Flowood, and CJHS will host at Arrow Field.
