The Clinton Lady Arrows Volleyball (24-8; 6-0) bookended their regular season, opening up with a win and closing it out with a win on senior night.
On Tuesday, Oct. 16, Clinton took care of business against Vicksburg, winning in straight sets to end the regular season with a 24-8 record.
Senior All-Stars Mary Claire Ford and Logan Parker as well as seniors Krystal Hulsey, Makayla Cole and Rebeca Arreguin were recognized before the varsity match for their hard work and leadership as seniors.
The 2018 season welcomed Megan Brown as the Lady Arrows new head coach, and saw the inaugural Clinton Volleyball Invitational Tournament where the Lady Arrows went 3-1.
“This first season at Clinton has been the biggest blessing to me,” Brown said. “I not only gained a talented, amazing group of girls, but I gained a family.”
On the season, the Lady Arrows won 10 matches on their home court, only dropping one, and won five matches on the road, also only dropping one.
The Lady Arrows went undefeated in district play, winning all six games, and are currently ranked eleventh in the state by MaxPreps.
“We’ve won some huge games this year, and my girls have never given up on a game,” Brown said of her team. “They fight until the very end, and that isn’t something many coaches can say.
With Clinton finishing at the top of District 6-2A, the Lady Arrows will host Oxford in the first round of playoffs as the Lady Chargers (15-17-1; 2-1) travel to Clinton on Thursday, Oct. 18.
Brown said she looks at her team with confidence going in to playoffs. “They’ve put in the work and trained hard since May. I know they can overcome any any obstacle placed in front of them because they play for each other and not for the individual.”
Clinton and Oxford faced each other during the Clinton Invitational Tournament on Oct. 6 where the Lady Arrows won 2-1 (25-16; 24-26; 15-11).
The first-round playoff match is scheduled for 5:30 PM at Clinton High School and will also be live streamed on ArrowAthletics.org.
