BASKETBALL: Arrows and Lady Arrows Kick off 2019 with District Wins

With basketball season in the heart of District play, the Arrows Boys and Girls teams are setting their sites on winning District match ups.

Lady Arrows Collect Three Wins at Start of New Year

The Lady Arrows have won three of the five games since the start of the new year.

They kicked off the new year hosting Germantown on Jan. 4. The Lady Arrows defeated the Lady Mavericks 55-52.

On Jan. 5, the Clinton Lady Arrows traveled to Meridian and defeated the Lady Wildcats 62-60 in over time.

The Lady Arrows opened district play on the road at Warren Central. defeating the Lady Vikings 79-51.

The last two games did not find the Lady Arrows on the victorious side of the score board, losing to Greenville 57-45 and narrowly falling to Northwest Rankin 38-36.

Arrows Win Three out of Four

Coach Green’s Arrow Basketball team has taken the start of 2019 in stride, winning three out of four.

The Arrows hosted Germantown on Jan. 4 where Clinton won their first game back 85-44.

On Jan. 8, the Arrows dropped their first district game of the season on the road at Warren Central. The Vikings topped the Arrows 52-48.

The Arrows answered back on Jan. 11 when they traveled to Greenville to take on the Hornets. Clinton beat Greenville 57-45 to take their district record to 1-1.

Clinton traveled to Northwest Rankin on Jan. 15 and defeated the Cougars 52-49. Senior Kolby Moore dropped 17 points in the victory. Omarion Luss and Allen Hughes both picked up nine points against the Cougars.

A Look Ahead

The Arrows and Lady Arrows will participate in the MLK Classic hosted by Lanier High School.

Clinton returns home on Tuesday, Jan. 22 where they will host the Provine Rams.

The girls tip off at 5:30 PM and the boys are scheduled for 7:00 PM.
