Jakayla Johnson saw heartbreak from 2019 turn to pure joy in her senior season.
Johnson used this passion to help lead the Lady Arrows to the state championship in March 2020.
Jakayla Johnson signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Jones College.
The three-year starter averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.9 assists per game for Coach Pearlene Fairley’s Lady Arrows.
Johnson was listed as a player to watch by the Clarion Ledger at the start of the 2019-2020 season.
At the end of the season, she was named to the Mississippi All-State Girls Basketball team presented by Suddenlink as well as to Mississippi Gridiron’s All-State First Team and the Clarion Ledger’s All-State Fourth Team.
Johnson is the daughter of Precia Johnson.
